Ski School
Snow Sports School at The Mountain Top
Provides a safe and fun learning experience for skiers and snow boarders of all ability levels. One hour private, semi-private and group lessons are available. PSIA certified instructors are trained on the latest skiing techniques and offer individual attention to encourage both beginners and advanced students.
Beginner Group Lessons:
Are you a first time skier or snowboarder? Then participate in a 1 hour group lesson, geared specifically towards beginners. Our trained staff will guide you through the learning process and make sure you enjoy your first run down the slopes. Must be 7 years old to participate in a group lesson.

Beginner Class Times:
Saturday & Sunday - 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, & 6pm
Friday & Monday - 10:30am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, & 6pm
Tuesday through Thursday - 12:30pm, 2pm, 4pm, & 6pm
Advanced Beginner/Intermediate Group Lessons:
This 1 hour group lesson is geared toward improving your stopping, turning and to introduce skiing more challenging terrain. Students will learn how to link turns and become more comfortable with different speeds and slope types.

Advanced Beginner and Intermediate Class Times:
Monday through Sunday - 11am & 1pm
Our Snow Sports School offers quality instruction including:
- A Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) Certified Director
- Over 80 qualified instructors
- Kids programs including Mountain Mites and Snow Cubs
- Single session enrollment for children
- Day Packages combining ski lessons, rental and area ticket
Reservations
Reservations for private lessons can be made two weeks in advance.
- Private Lesson - $55 per hour
- Group Lesson - $20 per hour
Adventures in Racing Techniques
Learn the basics and tune your skills. This session is for intermediate skiers.
Four weeks of classes: 6pm-8pm
Class 1: Wednesday, January 23
Class 2: Wednesday, January 30
Class 3: Wednesday, February 6
Class 4: Wednesday, February 13
$80 for the class (includes all four classes). Limited class availability, advance reservations required. Minimum age of 9 years old to participate. Lift ticket may be purchased for an additional $10 per week. Please call the ski school to reserve your spot (262) 245-7516.
Learn to Ski or Snowboard with REI and The Mountain Top
Have you wanted to ski or snowboard and you live in the Chicago area? Join the REI Outdoor School, the PSIA/AASI and the Grand Geneva Resort in this great first time experience. This two part class includes a 2-hour presentation on getting started in snow sports and a half day on the hill. This class offers a complete package with rental equipment, in-store and on-mountain instruction, lift ticket and transportation.
There will be three dates of travel to The Mountain Top at Grand Geneva:
- January 26, 2013 with in-store classes at REI in Lincoln Park on January 23
- February 9, 2013 with in-store classes at REI in Lincoln Park on February 4 and in Northbrook on February 7
- February 23, 2013 with in-store classes at REI in Schaumburg on February 18 and in Oak Brook on February 21
