Historical Timeline

The Geneva ChopHouse, a steak and seafood restaurant, opened in 2005. This iconic establishment traces its roots to the acclaimed Milwaukee ChopHouse, which first graced the culinary scene in 2002 at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center, before expanding its legacy to Lake Geneva. Also in 2005, Grand Geneva expanded convention space to 62,000 square feet indoors, adding an 8,000 sq ft ballroom. The center of the building now complemented the convention space.

Major upgrades in 2009 included an expanded outdoor pool deck, featuring arching fountains, a dining area and a California-style fire pit, Embers Terrace. Guestrooms underwent a complete remodel, featuring Seura television mirrors, gas fireplaces, LCD flat-screen televisions, wet bars with granite countertops and enhanced bathrooms.

Catering to animal lovers, the pet-friendly resort introduced the Pet Club in 2011.

Grand Geneva earned recognition in 2013 as one of the top 10 golf resorts in the northern United States by Conde Nast Traveler. The same year, The Geneva Club opened—an elevated space with a home library ambiance, offering breakfast, midday snacks, and evening Happy Hour.

The Mountain Top Ski and Adventure Center diversified its offerings in 2015, introducing summer and fall programming with mountain bike rentals, hiking trails, archery, disc golf, sand volleyball courts, and more.

Twenty-nine luxury villas, ranging from studios to three bedrooms, opened in 2017 to meet guests' demands for more space and added conveniences.

Grand Geneva harvested over 100lbs of honey from the new on-site beehives. This sweet surprise is featured in various offerings throughout the resort and restaurants and is available for purchase in Grand Central.

Spring 2021 marked the completion of a public area renovation, reinventing the resort's lobby and lobby lounge. Additionally, The Landing, a 60-seat outdoor dining venue, was launched.

In 2023, Grand Geneva's guest room count increased to 358, featuring newly transformed rooms with a warm contemporary design.

Also in 2023, Moose Mountain Falls revamped a section of the indoor waterpark, introducing a new aquatic area with multi-level play structures, slides and an expanded swimming area.

Moose & Maple, formerly Smokey's BBQ House, opened in 2024—a family-friendly dining concept redesigned to match the resort's Northwoods scenery.

A complete renovation of Grand Geneva's 62,000 square feet of meeting space took place in 2024, solidifying its reputation as a world-class destination for various events. The upgraded facilities boasted modern furnishings, flexible open layouts and updated technology capabilities.
