Introducing Wee Nip: Grand Geneva’s New Short-Course Golf Experience.
Grand Geneva Resort & Spa is thrilled to unveil a brand-new short-course golf experience, Wee Nip, in the 2026 season. Designed for golfers of all skill levels, this fun, creative course promises a fresh way to enjoy the game, whether you're a seasoned player or just starting out.
The Story Behind Wee Nip
The name "Wee Nip" comes from the Scottish term for a small drink or quick sip, perfectly capturing the playful spirit of the new course. Unlike traditional long courses, Wee Nip is meant to provide a relaxed golfing experience—perfect for a casual round without the pressure of a full-length course. It’s designed for golfers to have fun, enjoy the game, and get creative with their shots.
“Wee Nip encourages casual play, making it ideal for novice golfers and players of all ages,” said Skip Harless, Managing Director of Grand Geneva Resort & Spa. “At the same time, it offers a fun challenge for experienced golfers, letting them try out different strategies and shots.”
A Quick, Fun Round for Everyone
Designed by Matt Dusenberry of Dusenberry Design, Wee Nip will feature 10 holes, each averaging around 90 yards. The course is designed to be completed in roughly 90 minutes—perfect for a quick yet engaging round. And for those looking to relax after their game, the course will include a viewing area with food and beverage service, as well as music to enhance the atmosphere.
What’s Next at Grand Geneva?
While Wee Nip won’t open until spring 2026, Grand Geneva’s golf courses are scheduled to open in late March 2025. And for those looking to improve their game before then, the resort will unveil a new golf practice facility this June, featuring short-game areas and target greens.
Grand Geneva continues to offer exceptional experiences for golfers of all levels, from the challenging Brute and Highlands courses to the upcoming Wee Nip short course.
